The glorious NME posted their excitement on Facebook about Everything Everything coming out with a new album so I figured I should check them out. Now I understand their feelings and I've listened to the first single off the new album, Cough Cough, many times since hearing it yesterday.

So many concerts!
I have made quick work of finding live music here in my new English surroundings. As of tonight I have tickets for these awesome shows...
Off to London to see Robyn! This entire show is going to be a dance party to which I am planning on wearing an outfit with glitter and/or sequins.
That same weekend Missouri natives Ha Ha Tonka will be playing in London on their first European tour!
A few weeks later The Civil Wars will be bringing their perfect harmonies to Southampton. They're also bringing The Lumineers as an opening act who I have not seen before and should be great!
With Of Monsters and Men I have to wait until March but I'm excited nonetheless
to see them here in Portsmouth!
From what I can tell everything sells out a lot faster here than it did in St. Louis. So if I had been aware there would be quite a few more shows on this list! If anyone knows Mumford and Sons, Ben Howard, Frank Turner, Dry the River or Bastille and can hook me up with a ticket let me know!

Rob Ryan
In my search for affordable and fun things to decorate my walls with I have
purchased these two Rob Ryan gems. This first one is actually gift wrap but I'm going to frame some of it for an interesting print. Each of the bells has a quirky saying written on it.
Secondly I got this tea towel at a shop in Brighton although it will not be performing it's usual tea towel duties. Instead it will hang somewhere in my cozy room.
You can see more from Rob Ryan on his site. So many cute things!!

You look lovely
I got this cute print today from a poster shop in Portsmouth. It's from the Keep Calm Gallery in London. It's going on my bathroom door since, oddly enough, that's one of the first things you see when the door opens to my flat. Now just to find a lovely brass bird like the one in the photo!

Bastille - Flaws
Bastille is my first new music find since I moved here. I have been loving this song ever since I heard it on BBC 1 last week. I'm excited to see them in Brighton next month!

Give Us Astonishment
God, give us a long winter
and quiet music, and patient mouths,
and a little pride - before
our age ends.
Give us astonishment
Give us astonishment
and a flame, high, bright.

Wise Words
"I always take more pleasure in liking something than in disliking something. That’s not to say there aren’t some things that deserve to be liked and some things that deserved to be disliked, but I’m never fond of disliking something.
The lesson I’ve learned is to be wary of those who are. The ones who seem to think that being critical is the same as having good taste. Those people almost never have good taste, so their opinions don’t matter.
There’s no particular sophistication required to be a critic. We know this, because children often dislike foods they learn to love as adults.
So, even if what you’ve done isn’t so great, just remember that those who can’t say so with grace, those who seem to take pride in criticizing you, their opinions don’t matter. It may very well be that you’ve created a masterpiece, and they’re just children.
If you can learn to be a fair judge of yourself, you won’t feel the need to rely on other people’s opinions."

The Swell Season Documentary
I'm so excited for this!!! Set aside some time in October for this documentary coming out about The Swell Season's Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard. It chronicles their band during the quick rise to popularity after the movie Once came out as well as their romantic relationship. It's sure to be full of fantastic music!!

Ben Howard - Keep Your Head Up
Everything I have ever wanted has now been knocked down a spot on my life goals list. This massive slip n' slide through the English countryside is now number one. After seeing this lovely music video I bet your life goal list will have adjusted itself accordingly.

Zooey Deschanel and Ben Schwartz - Tonight You Belong To Me
I love most of what Hello Giggles puts out there. One lovely treat is mini performances by Hello Giggles co-founder person extraordinaire, Zooey Deschanel. This one features a familiar face from Parks & Recreation, Ben Schwartz. They are singing, "Tonight You Belong To Me" from the Steve Martin movie, The Jerk. Enjoy!!

Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (Feat. Kimbra)
Oh, the twists and turns of a breakup. After listening to this song I understand why Gotye is up for a songwriting award. It's really straightforward yet I haven't heard a song encapsulate a broken relationship like this before. Naturally, I loooove Kimbra's addition to the song as well.
