The Great Return

Well, I'm back from lake and while I was gone over 60 people visited and apparently almost all decided they would stay mysterious. Fine. As you wish.

Some lake highlights...
- We spent one night in a castle/mansion.
- While on the boat I kicked Sam's phone out of her hand and into the lake.
- At the only bar in town we started a massive game of flippy cup. I played with water and dominated.
- Celeste and I got breathalyzed.

Here's a fun video from The Format!

Lake Weekend

Ok everyone, I am going to the lake this weekend so I will be gone for a few days. What I need from you is comments. If you scroll down, you'll notice a handy little counter. I added it because I never know who looks at this because there are rarely comments on anything. In the past couple days there have been around 80 views and not all of them me! So it would warm my heart, make my day, bring sunshine to my life and a smile to my face if y'all would let me know you've been here. If you're feeling extra commital you can even click the follower button at the top right hand part of the page!

Edit: Already people have come and gone without leaving notes. So here are some sample comments to help you guys out.
- " Wow, what a great (video/picture/statement/idea)!"
- Concerning a place..." I've always wanted to go there too" or " I know someone who went there (and had this ridiculous thing happen to them)"
- Concerning music..."I've never before heard such melodious tunes! Are my ears in heaven?"
- Concerning movies..." This movie will make my life complete in a way I never thought possible. Thank sweet baby Jesus it has been brought to my attention."

The Big Pink - Dominos

This song has some sort of addictive quality. Since I first heard it early today I just want to keep listening to it! But not as strong as the pull I feel towards this song. It's so good.

Volunteer in Thailand

I want to volunteer here.
"DEPDC is a non-profit community based NGO working in Thailand on the prevention side of the trafficking of women and children into the sex industry or other exploitative child labour situations. It offers free education, vocational training and full time accomodation for young girls and boys in an effort to achieve these goals."

I never thought of myself living somewhere in Asia but the work that this NGO does seems so amazing. I've had it bookmarked for quite a while and maybe I should look into it a little more closely.

The Archipelago of Kisses

The Archipelago of Kisses, by Jeffrey McDaniel

We live in a modern society. Husbands and wives don't
grow on trees, like in the old days. So where
does one find love? When you're sixteen it's easy,
like being unleashed with a credit card
in a department store of kisses. There's the first kiss.
The sloppy kiss. The peck.
The sympathy kiss. The backseat smooch. The we
shouldn't be doing this kiss. The but your lips
taste so good kiss. The bury me in an avalanche of tingles kiss.
The I wish you'd quit smoking kiss.
The I accept your apology, but you make me really mad
sometimes kiss. The I know
your tongue like the back of my hand kiss. As you get
older, kisses become scarce. You'll be driving
home and see a damaged kiss on the side of the road,
with its purple thumb out. If you
were younger, you'd pull over, slide open the mouth's
red door just to see how it fits. Oh where
does one find love? If you rub two glances, you get a smile.
Rub two smiles, you get a warm feeling.
Rub two warm feelings and presto-you have a kiss.
Now what? Don't invite the kiss over
and answer the door in your underwear. It'll get suspicious
and stare at your toes. Don't water the kiss with whiskey.
It'll turn bright pink and explode into a thousand luscious splinters,
but in the morning it'll be ashamed and sneak out of
your body without saying good-bye,
and you'll remember that kiss forever by all the little cuts it left
on the inside of your mouth. You must
nurture the kiss. Turn out the lights. Notice how it
illuminates the room. Hold it to your chest
and wonder if the sand inside hourglasses comes from a
special beach. Place it on the tongue's pillow,
then look up the first recorded kiss in an encyclopedia: beneath
a Babylonian olive tree in 1200 B.C.
But one kiss levitates above all the others. The
intersection of function and desire. The I do kiss.
The I'll love you through a brick wall kiss.
Even when I'm dead, I'll swim through the Earth,
like a mermaid of the soil, just to be next to your bones.

Watch these videos

I had a plan for what I was going to do tonight and then it all went wrong when I discovered MediaStorm and all the amazing videos they have. Most are mini-documentaries that are a mix of amazing photography and video. You should probably change your plans and watch some of these as well.

For something beautiful and impressive watch Love in the First Person.
To further appreciate Thom York's voice watch Creep.
Watch Chernobyl Legacy to be terrified and sad at the same time.
Friends For Life is really endearing and makes you want to hug grandparents.
Move to Malawi to love on people after you see Bloodline.

Let me know which ones you watch!

Once Wed

Although I have no intention on getting married anytime in the near future I love looking at Once Wed. It's a blog/resource for creative and quirky weddings. Most of the things I look at are just pictures of all the couples that seem a bit cooler than your average duo. Maybe it helps that they all have awesome photographers.

Imani na Kubwa

This is Imani and Kubwa. Baby Imani is the 8 month old son of Dusty and Marlaina who are living in Moshi, TZ. Kubwa, which is Swahili for big, is their loveable dog. I just think this picture is the greatest because it's really not altered. Everything is the size they appear.

Wade Robson - Slow Dancing In A Burning Room

What if this is how everyone worked out their relationship issues?

The song is Slow Dancing in a Burning Room by John Mayer and it's choreographed by the genius, Wade Robson. There was a shorter version of this dance performed on SYTYCD with Joshua and Katee. It's also B-E-A-UTIFUL.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Heath Ledger's final movie was the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. He passed away before he was able to finish it so Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell all filled in to finish his role. There's been clips of the movie floating around and now there is finally a proper trailer! I couldn't find anywhere that would let me embed so you'll just have to click the link!
